You'll most probably know the animations
the system plays during long activities (for example copying large
files from the explorer). Didn't you already want to display such
animations within your Clarion applications? With
SysAni you can do that and much more. In addition to those animations
that the system offers you can display your own AVI files!
The standard Clarion image control can
play animated gifs, but sometimes the results are poor, especially
with transparent animations. Also, the display gets stuck when the
system is under heavy activity.
SysAni uses the system's built
in animation control and so runs in its own thread (a "real"
windows thread, not SoftVelocity's own implementation in
Clarion), and therefore keeps showing where the image control
doesn't.
You might call that useless, but
your end users will like it. You can spend hours telling them how
hard you worked to get problem xxx solved, that it's not possible
to do yyy. Believe me, most of them don't understand (do they have
to?). Simply let some nice little animations cheer them up!

performance is excellent, primarily due to the nature of the underlying
animation control." Tom

(OK
- I have to agree that static images don't quite show the features
of an animation control - but why don't you download
the demo instead of complaining?)
